iMBiZO: (Zulu) A cultural gathering of hearts and minds.
Cafe iMBiZO sits beneath and is 100% owned by Fareham Community Church. It was opened in November 2012 with an aim to become a hub of the local community where local needs and demands could be met in a variety of ways while at the same time providing quality food and drink to the local community at an affordable price. We are a limited company which operates on a not-for-profit basis, any surplus that is made by the coffee shop is distributed to local, national and international charities.
Reward & Suspended Coffee Schemes
We offer a generous reward scheme for our customers and also run the suspended coffee scheme which allows customers to buy and extra coffee which we will then serve to anyone.
Local, fairtrade, ethical, fresh
All our food is freshly prepared, we offer a wide range of sandwiches, baguettes, paninis, jacket potatoes, salads and snacks.
Home made cakes & soups.
A sense of community
As part of Fareham Community Church we are run largely by a volunteer workforce on a non-profit making basis. Our volunteers come from the community, through work experience placements via the Job Centre and other charities. Any surplus we make through iMBiZO will be directly invested into projects and communities here and abroad. (These will include building schools in the slums of India and homeless charities in Fareham.) Our community focus doesn’t mean we compromise on quality.
We source the best products we can and hope you enjoy our great taste
We aim to build a sense of community in West Street and Fareham as a whole and we hold events and interest groups that represent those present in the area.
If you would like to use one of our rooms for your local event, please get in touch.
